Somebody bought a North Carolina Education Lottery ticket worth $1 million in Union County and they’ve yet to collect the money, officials say.
The Powerball ticket was purchased at the Sam’s Mart on N.C. 74 East, in the Indian Trail area of Union County, state lottery officials said Sunday.
Winners have 180 days to claim prizes, so the clock is ticking.
The $1 million-winning ticket was one of five tickets in the state that won big prizes Saturday. Four others won between $50,000 and $200,000. Those tickets were sold in Buncombe, Stanly, Craven and Forsyth counties.

A Charlotte woman won big in one of the other state lottery games on Friday, officials said.
Maria Gonzalez of Charlotte played The Big $5 Ticket and won $400,000. She bought the $5 ticket at the MMYT Food Mart on Shamrock Drive in Charlotte. She received her prize Friday afternoon, lottery officials said.
