Drivers on Interstate 85 northbound in Gaston County snapped dramatic photos of a charter bus that caught fire before pulling safely onto the side of the interstate on Wednesday evening.
No one was injured, Observer news partner WBTV reported, citing emergency workers.
The fire closed two of three northbound lanes near Lowell at about 6:30 p.m., the state Department of Transportation said. The lanes reopened about an hour later. The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
