After Harvey pushed tropical moisture and rain into the Carolinas on Thursday, it may only get worse later today as Harvey's remains roll up through the Ohio Valley.

There will be a few showers during the morning hours, however, the more severe weather is expected to come during the afternoon hours. Some storms may produce strong or damaging winds and we can't rule out a late-day tornado.

There is good news. After we move past this evening, the holiday weekend is looking great. Saturday should clear out quickly, unless you are in the northern mountains, where some wrap-around showers are still in the picture.

Sunday and Labor Day look wonderful with sunny, warm and dry conditions for all.

Elsewhere, Irma is now a major Category 3 hurricane expected to maintain major hurricane intensity upon approaching the Lesser Antilles early next week. It is still too soon to tell what, if any, impact Irma will have in the United States, but we will be monitoring.
