A man wanted on outstanding warrants struck an officer during a police pursuit in northwest Charlotte on Thursday.
The incident began around 3 p.m. on the 200 block of S. Linwood Avenue. Officers contacted a man, later identified as 33-year-old Warren Dennis Hall, and Hall got into a vehicle and tried to leave the scene, officials said.
As he was fleeing, police said Hall struck an officer with his vehicle.
The officer then got into his vehicle and pursued the Hall, who then jumped from his vehicle and tried to run away on foot.
Backup arrived and Hall was taken into custody.
The officer who was struck suffered minor injuries.
At the scene, officers could be seen leading a man in handcuffs to an ambulance.
The name of the officer has not been released.
It is not clear what charges Hall is facing or why he was wanted.
