Four people died in a wreck in Union County on Monday afternoon.

The four were in a car turning onto Lancaster Highway when it collided with a tractor-trailer, Observer news partner WBTV reported. The car failed to yield to the truck, troopers told the station.

The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. in the 6200 block of Lancaster Highway, near Nesbit Road in the Waxhaw area. The car was turning off Nesbit.

The car’s occupants were from Massachusetts, WSOC-TV reported. No names have been released.

The car appeared to be pinned under the truck, media outlets reported.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
