Desperate searchers called in a drone to look for a mentally disabled man who wandered from a Lincoln County rest home more than a week ago.
A Lincoln County search team and a drone operator from Cleveland County narrowed in on a roughly 300-yard area around Boger City Rest Home to no avail on Wednesday. The home is on Little Valley Lane, off Buffalo Shoals Road northeast of Lincolnton.
The drone provided aerial views of sites difficult to access due to the terrain but failed to find 52-year-old Richard Keith Perdue, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Perdue was last seen leaving the rest home around 8:30 p.m. Jan. 22, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
