Mostly sunny skies will continue across the Charlotte region for the next few days, with the next chance for rain coming Saturday.
Even then, the chance for showers and thunderstorms will be low, at about 30 percent, according to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C.
Cooler temperatures and low humidity greeted the area Wednesday morning, with the high at 69 and the humidity level at 57 percent just before 5 a.m.
Wednesday’s high is expected to reach 87, which is the normal high for this day. Highs are forecast to remain at 87 and 88 through the weekend, and 89 Monday and Tuesday.
Charlotte and neighboring communities remain under voluntary water conservation, and several Lake Norman boat ramps remain closed due to low water levels.
