It could get a bit more expensive to visit Asheville.
The Buncombe County commissioners plan to vote Tuesday on whether to raise the occupancy tax from 4 percent to 6 percent, according to the Citizen-Times of Asheville.
The occupancy tax would bring in $14 million, up from $9 million, and would be used for increased marketing, the newspaper reported.
Mecklenburg County’s occupancy tax is 8 percent.
