Gunshots were fired in the West Charlotte High parking lot Friday just after a homecoming football game against Vance High School, but Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say no one was shot, WBTV, the Observer’s news partner, reported.

Police said the fight started between football players, injuring one person but not seriously. About 10 p.m., shots were fired in the air in the parking lot and fans scattered, but police don’t know if the two incidents were related.

In no time, police officers and Medic personnel converged on the high school on Senior Drive off Beatties Ford Road.

Police didn’t know what triggered the fight and late Friday were looking for the person who fired the shots.
