A Cleveland County woman beat odds of 1.08 million to 1 to claim a $1 million prize from the North Carolina lottery this week.

Jasmine Eaves of Lawndale won the prize after playing the 50X The Cash scratch-off ticket, lottery officials said. She had bought the $10 ticket at Kebo’s Archery on Polkville Road in Shelby.

Eaves told lottery officials she plans to take her children on a dream trip to Disneyland with some of her winnings.

Eaves had the choice of taking a $1 million annuity with 20 payments of $50,000 a year or a lump sum of $600,000. Eaves chose the lump sum, and got $414,777 after state and federal taxes were withheld.

The 50X The Cash game began in February, and four of the six top prizes of $1 million remain.
