Three men face charges after a carjacking in west Charlotte Thursday morning.

The incident was reported around 2 a.m. on Freedom Drive. The victim was not injured.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say the SUV was taken from the driver at gunpoint by a man at the American Family Coin Laundry.

Three people were reportedly in the stolen vehicle when it took off. The driver hit a utility pole nearby on Crestmere Street and the SUV overturned.

The names of those arrested have not been released, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.
