Authorities in Union County are investigating the killing of a man Saturday in his home in the Village of Lake Park.
The Union County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 56-year-old Ned Frank Taylor of Logan Circle.
Officials with the sheriff's office said Taylor's wife discovered his body around midnight when she returned home from work. Taylor's wife said she had last spoken to him around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.
Investigators have not said how Taylor died, but a news release stated there were no signs of forced entry and no apparent signs of a struggle in the home. Officials wouldn't speculate on a motive.

The State Bureau of Investigation also is examining the case.
The sheriff's office said violent crime is extremely rare in the Village of Lake Park, a small community of about 2,900 residents between Indian Trail and Hemby Bridge.
Authorities were expected to interview residents of Logan Circle on Sunday to find out more about what happened.
