Perdue leading McCrory on money

Heading into the fall campaign, Lt. Gov. Bev Perdue, the Democratic nominee for governor, has twice as much money in her campaign bank account as her Republican opponent, Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory.

In the other high-profile statewide race, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole, a Republican, raised only a bit more than Democratic opponent Kay Hagan in the most recent period but has more than double in the bank.
