Charlotte's first Ronald McDonald house, set to open next year, will get $1 million from the New York-based Triad Foundation.
The house, to be built in the 1600 block of Morehead Street, will primarily be for families of children being treated at the Levine Children's Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center and Presbyterian Healthcare's Hemby Children's Hospital. It will have 20-30 beds. The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte has said its fundraising goal is $10 million to $15 million.
