Earlier, firefighters dealt with ruptured lines in two other locations.
On the west side, a leak was reported in the 7800 block of Old Dowd Road, where an 8-inch line ruptured. Charlotte fire Capt. Rob Brisley said this incident happened as part of the airport construction project. The leak happened in a large field, away from any roads. No evacuations were needed.
The second leak was in the 2500 block of Witney Lane, off Andover Road in southeast Charlotte. That is in a residential area between Randolph and Providence roads. Officials evacuated nearby workers for a time.
