Authorities are searching for a possible serial bank robber who was dressed in a wig, suit and tie and armed with a gun Monday morning when he forced customers to the ground during a robbery at the RBC Centura in Ballantyne, the FBI said.
The robber approached the counter, pointed a gun at the tellers and demanded they fill up two black bags he threw at them, investigators said. While tellers were putting the money in bags, he ordered two customers to get on the ground. No one was hurt. The bank is located at 14925 John J. Delaney Drive.
Bank tellers described the bank robber as a light-skinned black man about 130 pounds, 5-foot-9 and about 26 years old. He had on a gray wig, fake beard, moustache and eyebrows.
Investigators say Monday's bank robber is the same man who has hit more than half-dozen banks in the Charlotte area since 2004.
