Woman charged after fatal stabbing

A 20-year-old woman has been charged with murder in Wednesday's east Charlotte stabbing death of 21-year-old Thomas Sellers.

Chanice Borum is in jail following the stabbing in the parking lot of Shadowood Apartments on Eastcrest Drive Wednesday afternoon, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

The police department's S.W.A.T. team took Borum into custody without incident after she ran into an apartment and refused to come out.

Sellers, who was stabbed in the chest, was pronounced dead at 5:44 p.m. Borum and Sellers knew each other, police said.
