After a relatively quiet morning on the roadways, a spate of wrecks has occurred across Charlotte since 7 a.m.

The biggest incident before then was a wreck at about 6 a.m. involving a CATS bus and a CMS bus that sent three people to the hospital. The injuries from the wreck at West 4th Street and Grandin Road were minor, Medic reported.

WSOC-TV reported that the injured were passengers on the CATS bus.

Police later investigated collisions at Sharon and Park roads, West W.T. Harris Boulevard and Mallard Creek Road, and University City Boulevard and John Kirk Drive.

The collision at West W.T. Harris and Mallard Creek was a hit-and-run, as was a later wreck at East Independence Boulevard and Wallace Lane, police said.

Injuries are being reported in a wreck at northbound U.S. 29 Bypass and North Tryon Street.

And Huntersville police are at a wreck in the 9600 block of Julian Clark Avenue.

Interstate 77 southbound is congested because of a disabled vehicle near the LaSalle Street exit.

And traffic is clogged on the I-485 Inner Loop from exit 59 Rea Road through exit 64 Pineville-Matthews Road.

Shortly before 7 a.m., police also responded to a wreck at Park Road and Hamlin Park Drive and officers were at a wreck at I-85 Service Road and North Tryon Street.

In other traffic news:

Due to weather, the closing of intersection of Trade and Davidson streets has been extended until 6 a.m. March 24.

The intersection closed on March 3 for construction and utility relocations related to the CityLYNX Gold Line phase 1 project.

Expect congestion and additional delays in the project area.

Motorists on northbound Davidson Street can use East Fourth Street, South Caldwell Street and East Fifth Street as a detour.

Motorists on southbound Davidson Street can use East Sixth Street, North Brevard Street, East Fifth Street, North Caldwell Street and East Third Street as a detour.

Local access will be maintained. CATS will be affected.
