Hazmat members entered the restaurant and found all readings were normal and no hazardous conditions were found, officials said. Hazmat deemed the scene was clear and turned it over to the health department, which also said it was clear to reopen for normal business.
Officials were at the restaurant more than two hours and said five people were transported for treatment at Lake Norman Hospital, mainly for observation.
While the cause of the irritation is unknown, officials said people “can feel confident they can go back and patronize the restaurant.”
