Interstate 77 is open and moving again, but police are dealing with a number of wrecks on some of Charlotte’s other streets at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Among the streets affected by collisions are Central Avenue, W.T. Harris Boulevard, Sharon Amity Road and East Morehead Street.
But a collision that closed a portion of northbound I-77 in Iredell County has been cleared. The wreck took place before 7:30 a.m. near mile marker 45, at the Amity Hill Road interchange south of Statesville.
The N.C. Highway Patrol was forced to detour northbound traffic off I-77 for more than an hour. But all lanes are open at 11 a.m.
