Traffic at Charlotte Douglas International Airport could be especially congested Tuesday and Wednesday because of lane closures scheduled at the intersection of Old Dowd and Rental Car roads.
And in Charlotte’s uptown, a major problem on the John Belk Freeway has brought traffic to a near-standstill.
At the airport, crews are building a traffic roundabout, as part of the City of Charlotte’s Airport Entrance Road project.
Motorists headed to the airport can avoid the congestion by using the new Entrance Road’s inbound lanes to reach the terminal, parking lots and rental car facilities. Motorists leaving the airport are urged to use Josh Birmingham Parkway and the Billy Graham Parkway to reach I-85 and I-77.
