Piedmont Natural Gas will hold neighborhood meetings Thursday on upcoming pipeline work in Charlotte’s Myers Park.
Piedmont will start installing 4,200 feet of new gas lines along parts of Maryland Avenue, Croydon Road, Westfield Drive and Sharon Road in the week of July 28. Work is expected to be finished by late October.
Similar work will start next April along Queens Road West and Beverly Drive. The project will include new service lines to individual homes.
The “project expos” will detail the projects’ routes, installation process and other information.

Piedmont said residents can expect minor traffic delays on weekdays and the presence of construction equipment. The utility will use a directional drilling technique to install the lines without digging trenches.
Thursday’s meetings will be from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A second day of meetings will be at the same times on July 11.
The meetings will be held in the Crown Room of Queens University of Charlotte’s Levine Center for Wellness and Recreation, 2201 Wellesley Ave.
