Typical morning congestion is a problem at 8:25 a.m. for Charlotte-area commuters on the inner loop of Interstate 485 in southern Mecklenburg County and on southbound I-77 in the northern suburbs.
But there also are collisions on the John Belk Freeway at I-77 and on I-77 southbound in Huntersville. The N.C. Highway Patrol said the Huntersville wreck is at Sam Furr Road (Exit 25). Moderate to heavy delays are being reported in both area.

I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Providence Road to I-77.
Johnston Road ... Congestion and a collision at I-485; traffic moving 15-25 mph northbound from the state line to I-485.
Providence Road inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph from the Arboretum area to Wendover Road.
I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Carowinds Boulevard up to Clanton Road.
