No injuries were reported Saturday afternoon when fire damaged a house in Mooresville, authorities say.
The blaze broke out about 3:50 p.m. at a single-story frame residence in the 500 block of North Church Street, fire officials said. That is about two blocks from the downtown district.
Firefighters found smoke coming from the home when they arrived. It took a crew of 30 firefighters about an hour to bring the blaze under control.
Fire officials are investigating the cause. They said the American Red Cross was providing help for the displaced occupants.
