The front parking lot at Morganton City Hall will be closed Tuesday for about three weeks so crews can repaint the water tank nearby.
The paint on the water tank at the city hall has been peeling for some time, city officials said. In August, City Council approved repainting the tower, which does not contain water but is considered a landmark.
The front lot and front entrance to city hall will be closed at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Parking will be available along East Union Street and in the rear parking lot that can be reached from Avery Avenue and Lenoir Street.
Cost of the project is $50,367, city officials said.
