Thirty countries were represented Monday when more than 50 people were sworn in as citizens of the United States during a naturalization ceremony at the Mecklenburg County Government Center. Among the government officials who welcomed the new citizens were Charlotte Mayor Dan Clodfelter, City Council member John Autry and Mecklenburg County Commissioners Chairman Trevor Fuller.
“Thank you for your sacrifices and reminding those of us born here what we have, and we sometimes take for granted,” Fuller told the group. “We need you. We need your efforts. We need your thoughts. We need your voice.” Mark Price
