An overnight checkpoint aimed at finding impaired drivers resulted in 11 arrests and with a number of other citations, police said Saturday.
Members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and its DWI Task Force manned the checkpoint in the 6700 block of Idlewild Road from 11 p.m. Friday to 3:30 a.m.
Officers said the mobile breath test bus was on site to assist and 11 people were arrested for DWI.
Police also reported these citations: two, open container; two, child seat violations; nine, suspended license; 20, no driver’s license; 14, registration/inspection violations; other traffic/criminal violations, six; guns seized, one.
