Charlotte residents can expect an overcast Monday morning with scattered showers in the region, National Weather Service Meteorologist John Tomko said.
Temperatures reached a low of 58 Monday morning and will reach a high of 70 by the end of the day.
“It’s going to be very cloudy most of the day,” said Tomko. “Then we’ve got quite a strong system coming at us tomorrow, lasting into tomorrow night and really not ending until Wednesday by midday.”
That cold front system will move slowly across the region and has the potential to bring “heavy rains and perhaps some flooding,” said Tomko.
“Severe weather can’t be ruled out with this,” he said. “We have thunder from the get-go on Tuesday morning and things just ramp up from there.”
Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to reach 78 before cooling off to the lower 70s during the second half of the week.
