Queens lands $2.2 million grant to support students

Queens University of Charlotte has landed a $2.2 million federal grant to help ensure that students complete their degree programs.

The Department of Education Title III “Strengthening Institutions” grant is designed to help colleges and universities increase student retention rates.

The money, which will be disbursed over five years, will be used to strengthen academic support services, including computer software used to track students who might be at risk of leaving college. It will also establish an endowment fund to keep efforts going after the grant expires. Steve Lyttle
