The reopening of Beatties Ford Road in northwest Mecklenburg County has been delayed again, according to state transportation officials.
The N.C. Department of Transportation said completion of a new bridge over Richardson Creek is now scheduled for Nov. 9. The bridge is a short distance south of Trinity Road.
The road was closed June 20 and originally scheduled to reopen Sept. 18. That was delayed until mid-October.
DOT officials said crews encountered a series of problems. They made plans to move a water line that they thought conflicted with the bridge, then learned there was no conflict. Then, in moving a sewer line, they realized a utility pole had to be moved. That caused a delay in the project, DOT officials said.

Then, the DOT said, the contractor had to make changes in erosion control and other environmental issues.
In the meantime, motorists must detour around the area on Sunset, Reames and Lakeview roads.
