Wrecks causing delays for Charlotte motorists this morning

Several accidents in the Charlotte region are causing traffic delays Monday morning.

Around 7 a.m., an accident occurred at Tom Short Road and Ballantyne Commons Parkway in south Charlotte. Another accident was reported soon after at Pleasant Plains Road and Weddington Road.

On the north side of the county, an accident was reported at Mount Holly-Huntesrville Road at Bellhaven Boulevard around 7 a.m. And another accident occurred just before 7:30 a.m. at Tuckaseegee Road and Mulberry Church Road.

There was also an accident reported on I-77 at Gilead Road as well as one reported at Ninth and North Brevard streets. Another accident was reported at Sugar Creek Road and West W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Motorists are navigating around a disabled vehicle at West Boulevard and N.C. 160 as well as Sardis Road at Rama Road.

Meanwhile, several on-construction projects are causing delays, including the ongoing Interstate 485 improvement project between Johnston Road and I-77, as well as work on N.C. 49 near Charlotte Motor Speedway.

At 7:30 a.m., traffic was moving particularly slow on I-485 at Ballantyne Commons Parkway, I-77 North at West Arrowood Road and U.S. 29 at Barton Creek Drive.
