Revolutionary War re-enactments, food, music and much more will be featured Saturday and Sunday at the 44th annual Revolutionary War Field Days in Camden, S.C.
Camden was the site of two major battles in the Revolutionary War – the Battle of Camden in 1780, and the Battle of Hobkirk’s Hill a year later. the event takes place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day at the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site, 222 Broad Street.
Visitors to the event will be able to move with the troops and watch their skirmishes. Those skirmishes are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. each day, and there will be fife-and-drum concerts at 3 p.m. each day.
There also will be Sutlers Row, a series of tents where various items are sold, and the Crown Point Bakery, which sells items that were popular in the 18th Century.
All proceeds from the weekend benefit the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for military members and adults 63 and older, $4 for children ages 6-12, and $20 for families (two adults and three children under 12). Children 5 and younger are admitted free.
