A wreck is blocking the right lane of Interstate 77 northbound near Woodlawn Road (exit 6) in Charlotte and is causing heavy delays.
The wreck happened at 9:15 a.m., and state highway officials expect it will take an hour to clear the scene.
Monday’s rains, meanwhile, delayed the planned temporary closing of the 1100 block of North Davidson Street, between Belmont Avenue and East 15th Street, for the Parkwood Phase 1 Storm Drainage Improvements Project.
The 1100 block will now close at 9 a.m. Tuesday and reopen at 5 p.m. Dec. 4, according to the Charlotte Department of Transportation.
Outbound motorists should detour using 12th and Caldwell streets, and Parkwood Avenue.
Inbound motorists should detour using Parkwood Avenue and Caldwell, 12th, Brevard and 11th streets.
Local access to homes will be maintained, although CATS service will be affected.
