The slowest traffic in the Charlotte region at 8:25 a.m. Monday is on northbound Interstate 77 in York County.
A collision near Carowinds Boulevard is causing 5 miles of slow traffic, according to the S.C. Department of Transportation. Average speeds in that area are 10 to 20 mph.
Some streets are wet this morning, and another problem is the threat posed by leaves that were blown down during Sunday evening’s storms. The leaves are creating slippery conditions on secondary streets.
An earlier collision on the ramp from southbound I-77 to Clanton Road has been cleared.
