No injuries were reported Sunday night when a tree fell on a house in east Charlotte.
The tree landed on the roof of the house in the 4500 block of Ivanhoe Place, near Sharon Amity Road and Shamrock Drive. Authorities said it appeared as if weather – Sunday’s rain and the gusty winds accompanying storms in the evening – played a role in the incident.
The American Red Cross reported that an adult and five children lived in the house. The tree also knocked down power lines, but only the one house was affected by a power outage.
The Red Cross said it provided help for the family displaced by the fallen tree.
