Cold to ease up in Charlotte region

After Black Friday shoppers bundled up as temperatures reached only into the mid-40s, the weather will begin to ease up on Saturday.

It will be sunny throughout the weekend, with Saturday’s high a more seasonable 54 degrees.

By Sunday, you’ll even want to put away that winter coat temporarily as the temperature will rise to 64, and an even balmier 69 on Monday, according to the latest National Weather Service forecasts.

Temperatures though, will continue to swing, dipping to an expected high of only 47 degrees on Tuesday and then 58 degrees Wednesday and Thursday.

Skies will turn partly cloudy beginning on Monday, although no rain is forecast. Showers are expected early next week in the North Carolina mountains, however.

The rising temperatures reflect a general warming trend along much of the eastern United States, where temperatures rose 10 to 15 degrees from Thursday to Friday.
