Cloudy conditions will continue around Charlotte through the weekend, and showers are likely most of the day Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect local cloud coverage to keep temperatures fairly steady. “There’s an area of low pressure approaching from the west, so the precipitation chance will go up,” NWS meteorologist Patrick Moore said.
By daybreak Saturday, there’s a 40 percent chance for rain, increasing to an 80 percent chance throughout the morning, Moore said.
“Tomorrow will be kind of a rainy day. … There could be a thunderstorm in there during the afternoon,” he said Friday.
Saturday’s high is expected to reach the uppers 50s with an overnight low in the mid-40s.
Conditions will dry out Saturday night, and Sunday will be partly cloudy with a high in the low 50s, Moore said. “It looks like Sunday night and Monday morning should be dry, too.”
