Charlotte marches to spread domestic violence awareness

About 20 people marched in uptown Charlotte during lunchtime Thursday, in memory of a woman who was killed by her boyfriend in an act of domestic violence. He was charged with murder.

The woman is the second victim of domestic violence-related homicide in Charlotte-Mecklenburg this year, according to advocates. In addition to honoring the victims, the Domestic Violence Advocacy Council hosted the march to raise awareness about their free services to help people live safely.
