Rain and chilly temps on Tuesday

Charlotte area residents will have to put up with more rain today, while the wind chill sticks to a keep-the-winter-coat-on 36 degrees.

A light drizzle and a fog-mist were reported in the pre-dawn hours at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, where the temperature stood at 40 degrees.

Tuesday night will remain mostly cloudy with a low of around 30, according to the latest National Weather Service forecasts.

The sun is expected to emerge on Wednesday, although temperatures will stay chilly, with the high in the mid-40s. Wednesday night could see a frigid low of 29 degrees.

But showers are expected to return on Friday and stick around for Saturday’s Carolina Panthers home playoff game against the Arizona Cardinals. The game is scheduled to start at 4:35 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium.

The high Saturday should reach 54 degrees. More rain is expected on Sunday, although temperatures should climb into the high 50s.
