Belk Bowl brings events, street closures, to uptown Charlotte

The game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Louisville Cardinals will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in uptown Charlotte. Fan Fest will run from noon to 5:30 p.m. outside the stadium and will be centered on the corner of Mint and Stonewall streets.

Several uptown roads are scheduled to close through midnight Tuesday. They include:

• South Mint Street between Morehead Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

• Graham Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Mint Street.

• Stonewall Street between Mint and Church Street.

Tuesday morning, student volunteers from both schools will work for several hours on a number of service projects at the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.

The free Fan Fest Tuesday afternoon will feature a number of live musical acts, and country music star Miranda Lambert is scheduled to perform at 4 p.m.
