Fire crews battled a house fire late Monday morning that officials said produced heavy smoke and flames, but was subdued in less than 10 minutes.
The fire was reported at about 11:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of Edison Street, near Statesville Avenue and North Graham Street.
Crews reported that heavy fire and smoke came from the house. Twenty-three firefighters worked to bring the flames under control within eight minutes, officials said.
No injuries were reported, officials said.
The Volunteer Disaster Action Team of the American Red Cross said the fire affected two adults and two children. The group also said it planned to provide as needed groceries, lodging, clothing and comfort kits.
