Victims of north Charlotte break-in fight back, stab intruder to death

A man was killed Thursday night after he apparently entered an occupied north Charlotte home and struggled with one or more of the occupants.

The suspect was identified as Stan C. Wilson Jr., age 26.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said the incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Park Fairfax Drive, an area just north of Freedom Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Wilson suffering stab wounds. He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Initial information indicates that Wilson entered the occupied residence and a fight ensued. Detectives are working to determine if there was a relationship between Wilson and any occupants of the home.
