Inbound lanes on Wilkinson Boulevard were reopened shortly before noon Thursday the Westerly Hills area, as crews finished clean up deadly accident that involved speed and alcohol, say Charlotte Mecklenburg police.

Investigators say the single vehicle crash involving a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup occurred at 12:24 am in the 3900 block of Wilkinson Blvd, near Rosemont Street (just east of Morris Field Road).

The Driver, Zachary Alan Eubanks, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC at 12:27 a.m., police said. The two passengers were transported by MEDIC to Carolinas Medical Center-Main with non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle had run off the right side of the road and clipped a utility pole, before sliding sideways into another utility pole. It then overturned and struck both a metal box, metal light pole, a metal fence and came to rest after striking a parked car, police said. Eubanks was partially ejected.

Any witnesses are asked to call Detective Gormican at (704) 336-2677.

The two passengers as Reed Camp, 23, who suffered minor inureis and , 22-year-old Ian Stanley, was seriously injured, police say. Eubanks, Camp and Stanley were not wearing seat belts, police said.

Investigators expect to have Wilkinson Boulevard reopened by noon, according to a police statement.
