Restaurants lined up for wine benefit

The Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival continues today at the Kenton Place retail center off West Catawba Avenue.

The festival features fare from six local restaurants as well as wine from area wineries. The nonprofit event benefits Angels and Sparrows, Hope House and the Mooresville Soup Kitchen.

Restaurants are offering three signature dishes apiece. They are Brooklyn South Neighborhood Pizzeria, The Creole House on Main Street, Dressler's Restaurant, Kernel T's Korn Krib, Mayo's Ristorante and Sangam Indian Cuisine.

Prosciutto's creates new lunch menu

Owner Joel Pfyffer has created a new lunch menu at Prosciutto's Pizzeria & Pub featuring new, various-sized salads, fresh-made burgers, mini appetizers and all new sandwiches.

New items include Caribbean Jerk chicken salad, spinach salad, Ranchero and Mediterranean wraps and such sandwiches as the Sorrento, which has fresh mozzarella and basil, sliced tomatoes, red onion, olive oil and balsamic reduction on a ciabatta roll.

The restaurant in Shops on the Green also returned such former favorites to the menu as the pastrami and Swiss sandwich, and the roast beef sandwich with a homemade roasted red pepper horseradish spread.

Prosciutto's previously had the same menu for lunch and dinner. Dinners are now also available in lunch portions 11 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays.
