Concord

The Concord main library, 27 Union St. N., Concord, will kick off its summer reading program, "Make A Splash - Read!" at 10 a.m. Monday with crafts and refreshments. Register for the program and receive free ticket to a Kannapolis Intimidators baseball game. Puppets, magicians, nature programs, movies and much more are planned for readers this summer. Huntersville

McGuire Nuclear Station will host the Charlotte Symphony for a free concert at 8:15 p.m. June 25 on the EnergyExplorium lawn, 13339 Hagers Ferry Road, off N.C. 73. Take a picnic and blankets or lawn chairs. Boaters can anchor in the EnergyExplorium's cove at the southern tip of Lake Norman. East Lincoln High School's Band Booster Club will sell snacks and drinks.

Cornelius

Cornelius Presbyterian Church, 21209 Catawba Ave., will host an Antique Car Show starting at 8 a.m. June 26 and ending with awards at 3 p.m. Rain date is July 3. The third annual Lake Norman Wildlife Cruise benefit is 3 p.m. June 26 at 1459 River Highway (N.C. 150). Tickets are $40 or two for $75. Proceeds benefit the Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists. The United Way of Lincoln County urges businesses to set up collection boxes for items needed by local nonprofits and deliver them between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. June 25 to either the YMCA gym at 1402 E.
