Budget approved: The Harrisburg Town Council voted June 14 to approve the town's nearly $12.5 million budget for fiscal 2011. The budget has no tax increases but includes cuts the town's contributions to town employees' 401(k) retirement plans and health-insurance coverage. The town previously contributed 3 percent of employees' pay to their 401(k) plans regardless of how much money employees contribute, but the town will now match employees' contributions to 3 percent. Employees' health insurance premiums will decrease, but their out-of-pocket expense for each doctor visit will increase.
