Cabarrus College

Surgical technology scholarship: Chad Moore of Charlotte, a student in the surgical technology program at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, has received a $500 scholarship from the Foundation of Surgical Technology. The foundation offers financial assistance through scholarships to students in accredited surgical technology programs.

"We are proud of Chad and his accomplishments in the surgical technology program," said Michelle Gay, program chair for the surgical technology program. "We encourage our students to become involved with the Association of Surgical Technology, so that they will have opportunities such as this."

Jay M. Robinson

Lady Bulldogs: Basketball skills camp is scheduled at Jay M. Robinson High School July 6-9. Rising third- through sixth-graders attend 9 a.m.-noon, and rising seventh through ninth-graders attend 1-4 p.m. Gyms will open 30 minutes before scheduled camp time. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase during breaks.

Northwest Cabarrus

Horse camp: A summer horse camp is being offered at Northwest Cabarrus High School for Cabarrus middle school students 9 a.m.-3p.m. July 12-16 or July 26-30. The camp will be held at the Northwest Cabarrus High School Agriculture Department. Cost is $200 and includes snacks, but campers should bring lunch. Proceeds benefit the Northwest Cabarrus Agriculture Department.
