Hours: Tasting Room is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Tasting bar closes at 5:30 p.m. Free tours are offered at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday- Friday; and noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lunch is served daily 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bistro.

Activities: Guests can enjoy a 35,000-square-foot facility, with décor inspired by Tuscany, Italy, browse the gift shop and dine at the Bistro. The vineyard offers four different wine tastings depending on an individual's palate. Visitors can also listen to music on the lawn beneath the terrace Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. through October.

Cost: Daily tours are free. Classic wine tasting $10; Barrel select tasting $12; Signature tasting $15; Wine, chocolate and cheese tasting $18.

Target Audience: All ages are welcome. 21 and up for those tasting wine.

Directions from uptown Charlotte: Turn right to merge onto I-277 S. Take exit 1C to merge onto I-77 N/US-21 N toward Statesville. Take exit 13A to merge onto I-85 N toward Greensboro. Slight right at I-85 BUS N/US-52 N (signs for Lexington/Winston-Salem). Continue onto US-52 N. Take exit 89 for W US-64. Turn left at US-64 W. Turn right at Childress Vineyards Road. Destination will be on the left.
