Fleet Services recognized: Concord's Fleet Services has been selected as the 18th best public-sector fleet operation in North America in Government Fleet Magazine's 100 Best Fleets. The department oversees the fueling and servicing of more than 1,000 vehicles and pieces of equipment.

Habitat's 121st home: Habitat for Humanity Cabarrus County recently dedicated the 121st home the organization has built in the county. The home is in Habitat Cabarrus' Concord subdivision, Magnolia Crossing. Details: habitatcabarrus.org.

Police promotions: The Concord Police Department promoted Keith Eury, who had served as a sergeant in the criminal investigation division, to captain. He will command the department's Baker District. Jeff Howell, an officer in the patrol division, was promoted to sergeant and will serve as a supervisor in the David District.
