Principal and assistant principal changes

Opportunity School and Concord High: The Cabarrus County Board of Education has approved Adrienne Robinson as principal of the Opportunity School at the Glenn Center. Robinson most recently served as assistant principal at Turning Point Academy Alternative School (Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools) in Charlotte. Robinson holds two master's degrees - one in school administration and one in teaching - from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She received a bachelor's degree from Benedict College. Also, Fateama Fulmore has been appointed assistant principal at Concord High School. Fulmore most recently worked as a business education teacher at A.L. Brown High School (Kannapolis City Schools). Prior to joining Kannapolis City Schools, Fulmore worked as a teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Fulmore holds a master's degree in school administration from Gardner-Webb University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Appalachian State University.

Schedule changes: The deadline for schedule changes is July 15. Students can make one schedule request change for the next school year, and an online form is available at . A counselor will review your request, make changes, then email you a new schedule. If needed, they will call or email you. Students wanting a face-to-face appointment with their counselor can call 704-920-7146.

Spider Survival Camp: Camp (or orientation for freshmen) is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 for students with last names beginning with a letter from A to L. Camp is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 3 for students with last names beginning with a letter from M to Z. Freshmen parent orientation is scheduled on the same days, with an evening session for parents on Aug. 2. To download an interest form, go to Questions? Open House: Open house is scheduled 5:30-8 p.m. on Aug. 19. The first day of school is Aug. 25.

"Spider for a Day": 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 20. Freshmen can meet with teachers and walk through their schedules.
